Events for 2002

January: Lunch at the Cambridge Hotel
April: Attended the Senior Health Fair in Manchester and lunched at the Town Hall.

Pooled rides to North Adams for a tour of the historical museum and lunched at the Freightyard Restaurant.

May: Program at Burdett with a timely discussion of life and death issues, led by MaryAnn Carlson, holistic therapist, and Dorothy Danforth, president of Hospice of Bennington County, following the movie "Wit", starring Emma Thompson
June: Picnic at Burdett
July:
Pooled rides to the Butterfly Museum in Jamaica and lunched at the Double Hex in Manchester on the return trip. Zebra Butterfly at the Butterfly Museum
August: Bus drive to Burlington for a cruise of Lake Champlain and lunch on board.

September: Bus trip to the Slate Museum in Granville, and lunch in Whitehall at Finch and Chubbs Restaurant overlooking the Champlain Canal lock. Stopped over at the Parris Hill Alpaca Farm north of Pawlet.

October: The seventh grade students at the high school made a breakfast for the seniors at Burdett
December:
Held our Christmas party with everyone bringing hors d'oeuvres and a gift for the fifteen alternative school students. The Sassies also gave the students a check for $60.00 for their Chrismas party. Christmas Party

The alternative school students made a breakfast for 19 Sassies at St. James church.


Coffee Hours are held every Monday and Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 am at Burdett Commons.

Every second Monday of the month, we have lunch at Chauncey's restaurant.

A movie was shown the first Friday of every month. Movies were Tootsie, Room With a View, Mrs. Doubtfire, African Queen, Enchanted April, The Russians are Coming, Russia House, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Insider and Muriel's Wedding.

We received our $1000.00 grant for transportation, which was spent for the two bus trips.
