Events for 2006Coffee hours every Monday throughout the year from 9 to 10:30 am. Lunches were held at Chauncey's on the second Monday of each month from November through July. Movies were shown on the first Friday of each month at 10 am. Shown were:
January: Show and Tell April: We pooled rides for a guided tour of Abacus Corp. in Bennington, a company that designs and produces automatic machinery with the help of robots. We lunched at the Bennington Panda Garden. We also hosted Fred Hoyt to explain the new prescription drug plan to us, and Deidre Wilson of Americorps provided information about poison control. May: June and Ken Nicholson came to Burdett Commons to talk and show slides about their recent trip to Israel, where they joined a group at an archaeological dig. Mark Williams of Manchester talked to us about better health care through acupuncture to help chemotherapy patients. July: Car pooled to view the Rembrandt sketches at the Bennington Museum. August: We took our first bus trip to the Billings Farm Museum in Woodstock, Vermont. We all packed a picnic lunch and were fortunate to have had a glorious day. September: Took our second bus trip to the Marble Quarry in Proctor, Vermont. We had another beautiful day and lunched at the Fairhaven Inn on the way home. December: We had our usual Christmas party, where everyone brought hors d'oeuvres and exchanged gifts. HOME |
