Events for 2008Coffee hours were held on Mondays. Movies were shown on the first Fridays of the month. Memoir group met every second Monday and this year we read our stories at the library again. In May we had a lunch at the Community House. Everyone brought hors D'oeuvres and we had drinks and desserts and a good time. In July we held a picnic at Lake Shaftsbury. We also took our only bus trip to Burlington to the Echo and Leahy Center. It's right on Lake Champlain and houses an aquarium and a science center, as well as a café where we ate our lunch. In September we pooled rides to Bennington to have a tour of NSK, a factory that makes steering columns for higher priced cars. It was very interesting. For lunch we met at the Chinese restaurant. In October, Susan Groesbeck instructed us in the art of making greeting cards. It was a lot of fun and we hope to have Susan do another session with us. Early in December we car- pooled to the Bennington Museum for their "Festival of Trees". It was as lovely as always. We brown-bagged our lunches and ate at the museum. Later in December, we had our annual Christmas party with Santa Claus dropping by with his bag of goodies. We had lunch, cake and coffee and a champagne punch. What a way to end the year!!! HOME |
